Objective

Divide an address block into subnets, compute network and broadcast addresses, and validate your answers instantly.

Theory & concepts

Subnetting borrows host bits to create multiple logical networks from one block. Each subnet has its own network address (host bits zero), a broadcast address (host bits one), and a range of usable host addresses in between. The number of usable hosts in a subnet is 2^hostBits - 2.
