Objective
Paint field lines and field vectors around charges, then drive a probe charge through the landscape to feel the force it experiences.
The idea
Every charge paints an invisible picture in the space around it. Place charges, toggle the field view, and move a test charge to feel how the field pushes it.
Try this
- 1Place a single positive charge and flip between vector and line views.
- 2Add a second charge of the same sign and watch the lines repel.
- 3Bring opposite charges close and watch the lines bridge them.
- 4Turn on the probe charge and steer it across the field.
Watch for
- Field lines start on positives and end on negatives.
- Lines crowd where the field is strong - near the charge.
- The force on a probe follows the local field direction.
- Field strength falls with distance squared.
